The Bertrams • Wedding
What a day! This was my first wedding to photograph, and I had so much fun getting to see so many familiar faces. The day started out early, with Ben and Kylie arriving to The Stanley Historic Event Space; each with their bridal party. Of course they did not see each other and we had to coordinate the usage of the stairway. The bridesmaids (Laura, Isabelle, and Olivia) worked on finishing touches of hair and makeup (after mimosas, of course!) and Kylie had her Aunt do her makeup. The girls were a blast to be around and I found myself laughing along with them. When I hung out with the Groomsman, everything was cool, calm, and collected. While they all made sure every shoe lace was tied and cuff link was in place, Ben got a little assistance with his hair. With the help of multiple people, it was under control! Kylie and I did some portrait shots until it was time for the first look. We rode patiently in the elevator to the roof top where Ben was already waiting at the alter. It was such a sweet moment and things were feeling even more real! With a little more down time to spare, the bridal party headed outside for group photos. They all looked stunning and literally stopped traffic at one point on their way back to the venue. Once we all got back, it was time for family formals and soon... the ceremony! While Ben and Kylie took a few more romance shots, family and friends began arriving. We headed up to the roof and could hear Ben's custom playlist playing "Final Countdown" over the speakers. The ceremony was lovely! We were all blessed with the coolest day all summer making it even more enjoyable. Ben and Kylie met at the alter once again, this time with all of their loved ones there supporting them. Instead of a traditional unity candle, Ben and Kylie tied together cleat laces. After they exchanged rings and "I do's," the deal was sealed with a kiss! The rest of the evening was filled with amazing food and quality time with friends and family. At their send off, everyone gathered around with sparklers as a final celebration! The day was filled with so much love and friendship. If there was a real life version of the TV show "Friends," this was pretty close. Including a couch full of people who loved each!
